Google Tracking

Google tracking codes
As a courtesy we switch on Google tracking for our customers. You can read more details regarding what the information means here;
http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1033867

There are two types of reports you might see in google with our names associated and they are myshopping.com.au/referall or myshopping/CPC, please let em explain them as follows;

CPC
** This only shows up if google tracking is switched on.
What we use for the google tracking code can be summarized below;

Campaign Source (utm_source)

Required. Use utm_source to identify a search engine, newsletter name, or other source.
Example:
 utm_source=myshopping

Campaign Medium (utm_medium)

Required. Use utm_medium to identify a medium such as email or cost-per- click.
Example
utm_medium=cpc

Campaign Name (utm_campaign)

In our case we use this to show the Category Name
Example
utm_campaign=books

Campaign Term (utm_term)

Used for the product name so that you can see what the product was.
Use utm_term to note the keywords for this ad.
Example
utm_term=Tuesdays+with+Morrie

Therefore you may see something like  this on the end of your URL

utm_source=myshopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Books&utm_term=Tuesdays+with+Morrie+An+Old+Man+a+Young+Man+and+Life+apos+s+G

myshopping.com.au/referall
This will show up in the following cases
  • When Google tracking is not switched on you will see our traffic categorised here
  • If you have Google tracking switched on then you may see this category as well in some cases. What should happen is that you will see traffic from us that has the Google Tracking on now logged in the CPC section.
Disclaimer: we cannot change this for you but we can switch it off so that you can create your own Google Tracking code and place that directly in your feed. Please note as Google Tracking is not a product of ours you will have to contact Google for any support and implementation issues.
